Most species of seals have a unique ability to sense their prey with only their whiskers. They detect distance, size, and species of fish just by the flow of the water behind their fins. We aim to replicate this using our own equipment to create a new breed of underwater sensor.
Our sensor could be used on submarines for military and exploration purposes because it will be one of the first passive underwater detection options available for use.
I have been helping and learning wherever I can in the lab, my most prominent jobs have been designing and fabricating modules for mounting various modules within the double three axis gantry system and sensor blocks.
