One of the tables I built for the 1st bay project was the CNC table! The CNC table is named as such because on top of it will be our very own CNC machine! Underneath the table is all of our sheet material (aluminum sheets, polycarbonate, polyethylene, MDF and plywood) It has seven slots built into the bottom for optimal organization. I designed the table in full, assisted my teammate in cutting the wood, assembled it over the course of two weeks and spent more than 100 hours on the project.
The CNC table needed a design before we could cut a single piece of wood. I made this design and went through four iterations before coming to the CAD currently in file. We used this file to construct the table, but changed some parts that aren't reflected in my CAD model
The table has been assembled, and all the sheet material has been stored in it. Next we need to assemble the CNC router itself on top of it.
This project has been completed! We use the CNC table every session and it continues to do it's job.Â
