My chair was unable to be pushed up to the desk previously because the base would interfere with the pedals for my simulator. I solved this problem by designing and 3D printing a new base.
I utilized finite element analysis tools in both Onshape and creo parametric to analyze the stresses in my part and adjusted the design to account for my findings
Using 3D printed parts that interface between the OTS casters and the printed base I was able to achieve tighter tolerances and add a controlled point of failure to the design.
I needed a method for mounting my wheelbase to my desk. There are options available off the shelf but I wanted to gain practice and experiance with sheet metal fabrication so I designed my own.
