The UN ESCAP is the main legislative organ of ESCAP and reports to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). UN ESCAP provides a forum for all governments of the region to review and discuss economic and social issues and to strengthen regional cooperation. The Commission meets annually at the ministerial level to discuss and decide on important issues pertaining to inclusive and sustainable economic and social development in the region, to decide on the recommendations of its subsidiary bodies and of the Executive Secretary, to review and endorse the proposed strategic framework and programme of work, and to make any other decisions required, in conformity with its terms of reference. The Commission session comprises a senior officials segment followed by a ministerial segment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is main responsible for ESCAP while the  Ministry of Transport is responsible for Transport  matters 

The Committee on Transport consist of all Member States will be met every two year to addresses the following issues:

• • Transport policy options and programmes, including the evolving post-2015 development agenda, and regional agreements and mandates;

  • The Asian Highway, Trans-Asian Railway and other initiatives, including inter-island shipping and maritime transport promoted by the Commission for planning and financing integrated intermodal transport and logistics systems;

  • Measures to improve road safety and the efficiency of transport operations and logistics;

  • Support for the accession and implementation of international transport agreements;

  • Harmonization of transport standards and documents;

  • Applications of new transport technologies, including intelligent transport systems;

  • Private sector participation for financing and maintaining infrastructure, including through public-private partnerships.

The last session of Committee on Transport was held  during 23 - 25 November 2022 at UN ESCAP conference room, Bangkok and remote meeting. The next meeting of Committee on Transport will be held in the end of 2024

คณะกรรมการด้านการขนส่งประกอบด้วยผู้แทนประเทศสมาชิกทั้งหมดจะมีการประชุมทุก 2 ปีเพื่อพิจารณาประเด็นต่อไปนี้: 

• แผนงานและทางเลือกนโยบายการขนส่งรวมถึงวาระการพัฒนาหลังปี 2558  ข้อตกลงและอาณัติระดับภูมิภาค

• ทางหลวงสายเอเชีย รถไฟสายทรานส์เอเชีย และข้อริเริ่มอื่น ๆ รวมถึงการขนส่งระหว่างเกาะและการขนส่งทางทะเลที่ได้รับการส่งเสริมโดยคณะกรรมาธิการเพื่อการวางแผนและจัดหาเงินทุนสำหรับระบบขนส่งและลอจิสติกส์แบบบูรณาการ 

• มาตรการปรับปรุงความปลอดภัยทางถนนและประสิทธิภาพของการขนส่งและโลจิสติกส์ 

• การสนับสนุนการภาคยานุวัติและการดำเนินการตามข้อตกลงการขนส่งระหว่างประเทศ

•  ความสอดคล้องกันของมาตรฐานการขนส่งและเอกสาร

•  การประยุกต์ใช้เทคโนโลยีการขนส่งใหม่ๆ รวมถึงระบบขนส่งอัจฉริยะ

•  การมีส่วนร่วมของภาคเอกชนในการจัดหาเงินทุนและการบำรุงรักษาโครงสร้างพื้นฐาน รวมถึงผ่านความร่วมมือระหว่างภาครัฐและเอกชน 

การประชุมคณะกรรมการด้านการขนส่งครั้งล่าสุดจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 23-25 พฤศจิกายน 2565 ณ ห้องประชุม UN ESCAP กรุงเทพฯ และการประชุมทางไกล สำหรับการประชุมคณะกรรมการขนส่งครั้งต่อไปจะมีขึ้นในปลายปี 2567
