There are two places that you need to be aware of sharing permissions as you develop your electronic portfolio with Google Sites:
Sharing permissions on your Google Site
Sharing permissions on your Google Drive (for embedding documents)
In order to share your website with people outside of Waubonsee, you will need to change your Share setting.
Click on the Share with others icon
Click on the Links panel to expand options
Click on the drop arrow in the Published Site area
Change settings to Public
On a computer, go to Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
Click the file you want to share.
Click Share or Share .
Select the file you want to share.
Click Share or Share .
Under "Share with people and groups," enter the email address you want to share with.
Important: If you share with an email address that isn’t a Google Account, they can only view the file.
To change what people can do to your doc, on the right, click the Down arrow Viewer, Commenter, or Editor.
Choose to notify people.
If you want to notify people that you shared a doc with them, check the box next to Notify people. If you notify people, each email address you enter will be included in the email.
If you don't want to notify people, uncheck the box.
Click Share or Send.
Copy the published site link for your site
Open up a different browser (for example, if you are using Google Chrome, open up Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge)
Go to Google Drive
Sign out of all accounts
Paste your URL in the address bar
Click Enter
You should now see the site as your audience will see it. Check to see that your embedded documents are viewable, and if they aren't, then change them in your Google Drive.
