The navigation bar is how users get around a website, and it helps them find important resources quickly. The new Google Sites automatically creates an intuitive navigation bar that links to content within your site. In this activity, you will learn to:
Change the appearance of your navigation bar
Add subpages to create a drop down navigation
Use the Settings (gear icon) near the Publish button at the top right side of the screen
Choose the Navigation option
Change the Mode to Side
The top navigation will disappear and the menu button (three horizontal lines stacked vertically) will appear.
Close the Settings dialogue box.
Click the Publish button to make the changes go live.
If a viewer's screen size is larger than 1280px wide new Google Sites will automatically display the side navigation. A screen size less than 1280px will make the side navigation hide and the viewer needs to use the menu button (three horizontal lines stacked vertically) to make the side navigation visible.
