Project Description
As part of the multidisciplinary project in the 5th year of the SIEC specialization, we were required to work in groups of 5 to 6 people on a car already present in the GEI department and add new features to it.
Our "Park Patroller" project is designed to detect and analyze car license plates in a given parking lot. This detection must be done within a predefined area, and in our case, we were asked to work on the parking lot in front of the GEI department. Our solution will be easily adaptable to other parking lots if necessary. The car must also have basic features such as obstacle avoidance and autonomy. Initially, the car is already configured to be controlled with a joystick, and we need to be able to control its trajectory to make it more autonomous.
Features
Licence Plate Detection
A camera on the car can detect and analyze the license plates of other cars
Trajectory Control
If the car encounters an obstacle (car, bike, human), it must be able to avoid it and then return to its original course (without using a joystick)
Automated parking management
After license plate detections, must be able to manage whether the car is allowed to park on the parking spot, the time spent on the parking spot, etc.
