Cana

In the Bible

1. Jesus performed His first miracle, turning water into wine at a wedding, at Cana (John 2:1-12)

2. Jesus healed the dying son of a royal official. The boy was in Capernaum but the healing happened remotely. (John 4:46-54)

3. The disciple, Nathaniel, came from Cana (John 21:2)

Possible sites

1. Kefer-Kenna

   1. The traditional site. The Franciscans established themselves here in 1641. The church on the site was built in the early 1900's.

2. Khirbet Qana, by many considered the most likely site.
