The Moomin stories, first published in Finland in 1945, celebrate their 80th anniversary this year. The Finnish winter and the daily life of the Moomin family resonate deeply with us who live in the snow country. Actually, Yamamuro san, who worked on the first Japanese translation of the series, grew up in Nagano Prefecture! This lecture will explore the unexpected connection between Moomin and Nagano Prefecture, and the lecturerwho served as editor for this serieswill show us rare photos from her business visit in Finland.
