Two Ways to Get on the IFRT Ballot
If you would like to nominate someone (or yourself) for an office, contact the past-chair of IFRT. Nominations must be received by September.
A member not on the slate provided by the past-chair of IFRT may be nominated for any office by a signed petition of fifteen members.
Candidate Eligibility
To be eligible to hold an office, the candidate must:
be a member of ALA and the IFRT
attend meetings at Annual Conferences and Midwinter Meetings
be able to engage in deliberations via email throughout the year

Detailed procedures for submitting ballot information to the ALA election platform is available with the staff liaisons.
Election Results
Staff liaisons will forward election results to the past-chair of IFRT who also serves as the Nominating Committee chair.
The nominating committee chair will notify all the candidates.
The nominating committee chair will then notify the IFRT executive board.
IFRT chair, nominating committee chair, and publications committee chair will collaborate to send a message to IFRT membership. It is encouraged for the newly elected officers to provide a headshot, bio and promotional text for the message. The message could be a newsletter, a Connect post, a press release, social media posts or any combination.
Staff liaisons will update iMIS and the Executive Committee "Meet Us" page.
