Past Chair
Responsibilities
Serve a one-year term on the executive board (fulfilling a three-year, rotating appointment as chair-elect, chair, immediate past-chair)
Serve as liaison to the Intellectual Freedom Committee to provide updates on the activities of the round table and to communicate activities of the committee
Provide a slate of candidates for the spring election as chair of the Nominating Committee
Perform duties as delegated or assigned by the chair or the executive committee
Timeline
First Quarter (July - September)
Term as past chair begins at the close of Annual Conference or July 1
Work with the nominating committee, continue conversations with potential candidates for the following year's ballot
Second Quarter (October - December)
Present candidates to the executive committee for their approval before ALA ballot deadline
Work with candidates to ensure ballot materials are submitted on schedule
Third Quarter (January - March)
Midwinter
Attend IFRT meetings, programs, and events
Attend IFC meetings
Fourth Quarter (April - June)
Notify all candidates of the election results
Thank them for running
Notify the executive committee of the election results
Annual Conference
Attend IFRT programs, meetings, and events
Attend IFC meetings
