Volunteer Events

We cannot emphasize enough how important we think the getting together moments with all of our beloved volunteers are and we hope you join & enjoy what we have planned for you!

Volunteer Event #1: Pre-Screening

Traditionally we organise a screening of a surprise film prior to the festival and we are excited to invite you at Cinerama on January 13 to watch the film Badak from director M. Raihan Halim with us. The film will be Malasian spoken and has English subtitles. The film starts at 19:00 (doors open at 18:30). The pre-screening is free for everyone, you don't need to buy tickets.

Volunteer Event #2: Opening Screening

On January 29 we have planned a screening of the Opening film 'Providence and the Guitar' by João Nicolau, specially for volunteers at Pathe 4 at 20:45 hr. The entry to this film is free and you do not need to order tickets in advance.

Volunteer Event #4: Volunteer Party @Vessel 11 (V11)

Ahoy, party people! Join us at the IFFR Volunteer Party on Sunday 1 February aboard the iconic V11, the Red Ship in Rotterdam! Let's celebrate an amazing festival with music, drinks, and great company. Let loose, dance the night away, and make unforgettable memories – all while cruising in style! Party starts at 22:00 and ends at 02:00 hr.

Volunteer Event #5: DJs & Drinks / Volunteer Party

Rotown is opening its doors again for us on Wednesday 4 February to enjoy a couple of drinks & dance together to the tunes of our very own volunteer DJ's. The first drink will be on us. The party starts at 21:00 and ends at 01:00 hr.

Volunteer Event #6: Crew Closing Party

The final crew party is planned once again at Theater Rotterdam on the very last evening of the festival when we are all in our festival bubble, tired and excited that we gave an amazing festival! We would love to have all the volunteers at the final party on February 8 to celebrate & thank you once again for all your energy! The part starts at 23:00 (right after the last volunteer shifts end).

Availability Form Volunteer EventsIn this form, you can indicate if you are going to attend the following volunteer events: 13 January 2026: Pre-screening @Cinerama 19:00 - 21:00 hr. We will watch a movie together with all volunteers that want to join us. Walk-in from 18:30. You get a free drink from IFFR. 29 January 2026: Opening screening @Pathé (20:45 - 23:00): We will watch the opening film Providence and the Guitar by João Nicolau together with all volunteers. Afterwards, you can join the Opening Party in De Doelen. 1 February 2026: Volunteer Party @V11 (22:00 - 02:00): Let's make the V11 Party a new tradition! The famous red boat hosts a volunteer party again, so join us for a drink and dance with us! 4 February 2026: Volunteer Party @Rotown (21:00 - 01:00): The famous Rotown party! Enjoy a drink on IFFR and meet your fellow volunteers! Let us know if you want to DJ at this party! 8 February 2026: Closing Party @Theater Rotterdam (23:00 - 03:00): The infamous closing party, where all staff, crew and volunteers will dance away the festival. We hope to see you there!
