Every day we witness life being born and dying at every level of creation; every day we experience darkness and light. The Christian message does not ignore the scandal of evil and suffering; rather, this reality is central to our profession of faith.... We tell the world that death, negativity, and darkness are destined to be conquered. We affirm that history will conclude in light, a light that has already begun to shine.

Cada día vemos la vida nacer y morir en todos los niveles de la creación; cada día tenemos la experiencia de las tinieblas y de la luz. El mensaje cristiano no ignora el escándalo del mal en el mundo y del sufrimiento; es mas, lo propone en el centro de la profesión de la fe.... Nosotros decimos al mundo que la muerte, la negatividad, las tinieblas son una realidad destinada a ser vencida. nosotros afirmamos que la historia se concluirá en la luz, una luz que ya ha empezado a brillar.
