Rufous/Anna's in WI

One of the things that we preach is to leave up some hummingbird feeders well into the fall after the last ruby throated hummingbirds have departed. Every year, there will be western hummingbirds seen in Wisconsin. We have been able to see some of these birds. Below are individual pages of these 'vagrant' hummingbirds. The birds are not lost and do not need to be rescued. It is very useful, though, for a hummingbird bander to capture these birds and place an individual numbered band on their ankles.
