It was a dark and stormy night, and the small town of Millfield was shrouded in a thick blanket of fog. The only sound that could be heard was the distant rumble of thunder.
As a young couple drove down the deserted road, they noticed a figure walking in the fog ahead of them. They slowed down to get a better look, and they saw that it was a woman, drenched from the rain and shivering in the cold.
Feeling sorry for her, the couple offered her a ride. The woman got into the back seat of the car, and they drove off into the night.
As they drove, the woman grew increasingly agitated, muttering to herself and looking out the window at the passing trees. The couple tried to calm her down, but she wouldn't listen.
Suddenly, the woman let out a bloodcurdling scream. She clawed at the back seat, trying to get out of the car. The couple tried to stop her, but she was too strong.
As they pulled over to the side of the road, the woman disappeared into thin air. The couple were left alone, shaken and terrified.
They later found out that the woman had been a victim of a serial killer who had been active in the area years ago. Her ghost was said to haunt the road where she had been killed, and she would sometimes appear to unsuspecting travelers.
The couple could never forget the horror of that night, and they never drove down that road again.
