Highway Data Systems (HDS) is committed to establishing, promoting, maintaining, and continually improving a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility among our staff, supply chain, and stakeholders.

Our systems have been designed to minimise environmental impact. By using advanced technology that reduces the need for on-site testing, we significantly lower vehicle use and emissions. This contributes to a smaller carbon footprint and supports more sustainable working practices. We continually review our systems to identify further opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

As part of our management systems, HDS measures its environmental performance, sets targets for ongoing improvement, and monitors progress annually.

Strategy

The key points of our strategy are to:

• Prevent and minimise waste and pollution by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.

• Reduce emissions through the use of technology, improved logistics, and efficient energy management.

• Prioritise electric or low-emission vehicles where feasible before purchasing new  vehicles.

• Actively promote recycling and resource efficiency.

• Source and promote products and services that minimise environmental impact throughout their lifecycle.

• Meet all relevant environmental legislation and client requirements.

• Provide training and career opportunities to enable all personnel to progress and achieve their potential.

• Promote fair-payment policies to support the economic sustainability of our supply chain.

• Behave in a manner that supports and benefits local communities where we operate.
