Hamsters need a lot of things to keep them busy. Here is a list of things that hamsters require:
A big cage/home (minimum floorspace is 450 square inches) (see Hamster Cages for more)
A wheel (with no mesh or wire)
Bedding (at least 6 inches of bedding)
A proper diet (see Hamster Diet for more)
Water
A hideout
A sand bath (not required, but is recommended)
Lots of toys
Chew toys
