Habitat Loss is the primary threat to wildlife's survival in the USA. Habitat loss is when humans cut down different animals' homes or when an environment has been changed drastically by human activities (like oil and gas).
There are different kinds of habitat loss. Habitat Destruction is when people cut down trees, drown rivers, mow fields, or fill in wetlands. Habitat Degradation is when pollution and invasive species disrupt an environment so much that they can no longer support any wildlife. And Habitat Fragmentation is when a habitat has been cut into fragments by roads or dams. The smaller fragments can no longer support the animals' needs, like traveling to find food or a finding a mate.
