That's the good news, the bad news is that initially it is only available to enterprise users and it requires a high end device to support it. Bottom line, fingers crossed, as it matures it may make it's way down to more conventional users :-))
Sep 2020 : It looks to be official that ChromeOS is to be updated with Parallels Desktop [a popular system that virtualises machines within an existing operating system] giving it the capability to run Windows programs, but [probably] only on high-end Chromebooks.

Aug 2020 : Click here to read a AndroidAuthority article with a bit more detail - unfortunately it looks like the Parallels component will be paid for [in addition to requiring a Windows licence - which was to be expected] and will only run smoothly on top-end kit. All in all it looks like it might appeal to some businesses, and a few high-end users, but not of any real advantage to anyone running a more basic Chromebook with a lower specification.
