Chinese Singing Contest for College Students in B.C.
As the chief organizer and project manager, I oversaw every aspect of planning and execution for this large-scale singing competition, bringing together college students from across British Columbia. On this project page, you’ll find photos from the live event, along with key documents including an Executive Summary, Scope Statement, Stakeholder Analysis, Work Breakdown Structure, Quality Management Plan, Risk Management plan, and Lessons Learned. I’ve also included posters and other visuals that capture the spirit of the contest. Certain sensitive materials and privacy-related data have been excluded, ensuring that the focus remains on our success in coordinating a vibrant, memorable competition that showcased the talents of students and fostered community engagement.

Executive Summary and Report
The Chinese Singing Contest (CSC) is organized annually by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver for non-native Chinese-speaking college and university students in British Columbia. The 2019 contest took place on November 16, offering a free, on-site event to showcase contestants’ Chinese language skills through song. The goals were to provide a platform for sharing cultural achievements, encourage wider interest in learning Chinese, and foster community engagement. An eight-person organizing committee spent four months preparing for the event, following a four-phase process—research and plan, promotion, activity, and wrap-up—covering everything from communication strategies and stage design to marketing, volunteer coordination, and financial analysis. Through this coordinated effort, the CSC became a vibrant public occasion that deepened participants’ cultural understanding and honored their enthusiasm for the Chinese language.
