Red I. & II.

These two videos focus on red, a color charged with meaning and psychological power: it can signify anger, anxiety, desire, passion, or sacrifice. Through striking visuals and layered sound design, we explore the mysterious energy red brings to human experience. 

Here, I emphasize the theme of desire by layering acoustic phenomena and using a dual-camera setup. Scenes of dissecting and devouring roses, a struggling goldfish, and suggestive acts like licking or lighting a flame symbolize longing and hunger—both sexual and appetitive. The moaning, kissing, and swallowing sounds further heighten the sense of craving, while repeated gestures echo across frames to underscore the intensity of red. By shooting from multiple angles, I reveal different perspectives within the same object, allowing them to interact simultaneously on screen. Together, these elements highlight red’s capacity to incite passion and excitement, evoking a longing for connection, possessions, or outcomes.
