All community members are encouraged to use the template given below of townships, cities, and kingdoms to participate in roleplaying/developing their pokemon within the Heartcatch region! Regional lore may expand upon and/or be revealed as you participate within the Explorers Guild. ⚠️WARNING: Expanding certain sections of the content below WILL spoil you for pieces of lore you have NOT yet unlocked. If you wish to find out the HC lore IN ORDER as the Explorer's Guide intends, please do NOT read those sections of lore UNTIL you have reached the designated Chapter/Entry/Arc that states it can now be read!
Certain aspects of the official HC lore should be spoiled within discord discussion as to not ruin any surprises for users who have not reached those parts of their Explorers Guild journeys yet.
Official HC lore should not be used for non-Heartcatch related characters or pokemon. Please give credit back to this main website/imperials if you are taking snippets of the lore for your own HC development means on th/wherever you store your dev writing.
Some parts of the HC regional lore can only be found out by reading the Explorers Guild Storylines.
Certain parts of the map are not labeled due to the MC (You!) not yet "visiting" or really "knowing" about the location. These spots will show up on the map as the story processes and down below with information.
Updates to the Lore/Region will be announced in the discord server is anything is changed or added.
DUSKPUDDLE [ town ]
A humble down in the forested northern regions of Heartcatch. A little bit swampy and a lot of bit woodsy, this town is home to a wide range of pokemon who crave adventure and a simple life. The famed Explorers Guild run by Apollo can be found near the outskirts of town where they set up camp. Many merchants love to travel to the far-reaches of this town as the adventurers who participate in the guild pay handsomely for their wares. A well-known trickster merchant by the name of Trinket can often be found travelling between here and Wandermere with their companion B1t.
MOONSHIRE [ sprawling city-scape ]
Located in the northernmost point of the region where it is extremely mountainous, the sky is pinker and sweeter here. Pokemon dwellings and inscriptions cover the sides of the mountains and all across the shire-lands in between. The tight knit community of practicing mage pokemon live in a small town tucked in a valley outcove. Psychic and dark pokemon love this territory and seem to thrive here. There are myths of a Deity pokemon living within the pink clouds that touch the mountain peaks.
Murmurs of falling rocks and boulders from the sky have been making their way through the shire. Many are starting to wonder if the Deity may be displeased…
STAR PEAK [ point of interest ]
It is said the Deity who lives in the pink clouds cut the peak of the mountain out of the stars and brought it to the Heartcatch Region to bless those who live in the shire. You’ll find many pokemon training as mages making a pilgrimage to honor the Deity at the base of the mountain itself around eclipses.
BROKEN HEART LAKE [ point of interest ]
The lake itself cuts through the middle of the primary region. Although quite sad of a name, many pokemon travel to visit and see the lake to cast their worries and woes into its depths metaphorically. It also happens to be a very popular swimming spot, with gorgeous sandy beaches on its southern end. You may also find a fun summer spot named Camp Heartcatch on its south shores.
CAMP HEARTCATCH [ point of interest ]
A summer camp that many pokemon visit and use as 'training' before applying for the Explorers Guild! A lot of young pokemon love to visit this place as a means of adventure and knowledge. Also to pass the time and take a swim in Broken Heart Lake.
SANDY FALLS [ city ]
This sandy town is a home to most rock and ground types in the region! Often, you may see some flying types too who love to catch the southern sea winds that blast over the sandy delta or water types splashing in the fresh-water. The pokemon who live here create gigantic sandstone and mud homes that withstand the winds. When erosion eventually takes its course, the pokemon gather the remnants of their homes and build them atop another in a cacophony of towers.
SHIMMERSCALE COAST [ Kingdom ]
Located south of Sandy Falls, this is a massive, sprawling city-capital of the region. Built upon a single, towering mountain on an isle, the kingdom is home to many dragon and flying types. Most of the city is covered in tall spire-like buildings and is home to many scholars and mages. It is a primary port-town that sends its merchants far and wide to other regions. The reigning monarchs of the region sparsely show themselves to the public. Some wonder if they are even in the castle.
QUIETHAVEN [ town ]
This small township is located on the Western Isle portion of the region. It's one of the closest towns located to the Crystal Cavern, besides Moonshire. It's a mix of spare woodland, rolling hills, and towering flower-trees popping up here and there. Not much goes on in Quiethaven... hence it's namesake.
WANDERMERE [ city ]
Wandermere is a bustling central cityscape used as a half-way point between crossing the swamps and getting to Duskpuddle or Lastfell. Many poison and ghost type pokemon live here, with most of them taking up homes within towering fungi buildings or nestled into some of the larger willow trees in the bogs.
LASTFELL [ town ]
The small town of Lastfell is not one many go to. It is the closest township to the Lost Woods, where not many dare to wander. Thieves guilds, wayward's, and other lowly pokemon-folk use this town and surrounding area as a haven for their bad-doings. Many pokemon traveling through the region will choose to take the long way around towards Aprin, across Broken Heart Lake, and to Wandermere instead of crossing along the East.
ARPIN [ town ]
Arpin is a peppy and flourishing town on the Western side of Broken Heart Lake. Themselves and Wandermere are advid traders, with a ferry being able to take pokemon from one side of the lake to the other in only a few hours time. This town is most known for being the resource-site for those staying at Camp Heartcatch. it is mostly a town full of normal types and dog pokemon. Being near Gloomfield, some of the farmland stretches up to the flowering plains of Arpin.
GLOOMFIELD [ town/hamlet ]
The town of Gloomfield should really just be called a hamlet. It is a spattering of farmhouses, crop fields, and little dwellings that come together at a small tavern they also call their townhall. It is a rural life to live, with dusty cliffs and stunning waterfalls to it's east. Many pokemon come out here for camping vacations since it is so close to Camp Heartcatch as well.
COCOABUD FALLS [ city ]
The farthest South city goes to Cocoabud Falls. Nestled on the coast of the Western Isle in the tropical rainforest zone, they are surrounded with rich foliage and towering Kapok trees. Most of the city is built high into the canopy, with rope-bridges and ladders making the majority of what would be considered the cities 'streets'. Most of the inhabitants of Cocaobud Falls are flying, grass, and bug type pokemon, with the occasional psychic type making it their home as well.
SANDY FALLS [ town ]
A town just North of Cocoabud Falls calls the bamboo wetlands of the tropical zone it's home. Dawnwater is quite literally a spring of resources and knowledge when it comes to the region. Many scholars from the Shimmerscale Coast take boats and ferries over the sea to the Western Isle as a vacation hotspot. Much of the town is built on posts, as the floodwaters come in and out each day, making it hard to traverse the area if you are not familiar with the flow of the tide.
There are multiple locations not yet known or visited by the USER/MC. These will be revealed as they show up or are mentioned during the storyline.
