Wild MYOs, Pokedex MYOs, Type-Swaps, Fusions, Evolutions, Mystic Traits, & Redesigns/Revamps
⚠️This guide requires you to have knowledge about the Pokedex to understand it! Please check Pokedex & Archives if you are confused about any terms⚠️
There are two types of MYOs that are available in the ARPG. Wild/Wild Fusion MYOs and Pokedex/Fusion MYOs.
Wild MYOs are used to make designs of pokemon that are NOT in your pokedex. These designs CAN have any color/design OR be type-swapped (TS) BUT the MYO itself is more expensive.
Wild MYOs cannot be used to make a legendary pokemon. You must have a Wild Legendary MYO if you wish to do so.
Using a Wild Legendary MYO does not remove a legendary from your pokedex entry like a Pokedex MYO does if you have it logged.
Wild Fusion MYOs are a subtype of Wild MYOs. They can be used to make a fusion of Up to TWO pokemon. A DNA Splicer-addon item is needed if you wish to fuse up to FIVE pokemon into one design. [more details on fusion MYOs can be found below]
Pokedex/Fusion MYOs are used to make designs of pokemon that ARE in your pokedex. These designs CAN have any color/design OR be type-swapped (TS) BUT the MYO itself is a lot cheaper.
Pokedex/Fusion MYOs can be used to create a design of ANY pokemon that you have logged inside your pokedex. As long as you have a pokemon logged into your pokedex, you can make a MYO of it an unlimited amount of times* (if you have a MYO).
*Legendary pokemon are the exception for this. IF you are using a Pokedex MYO to make yourself a legendary design, you will use up that legendary pokemon's 'dex entry and will need to 're-catch' the pokemon to make another MYO of it! However, you do NOT loose the 'data' of the legendary pokemon if you personally caught it (not traded for it). It will still show and count towards completion of your pokedex milestones even if you use up all of the pokedex entries of said legendary that you have.
Fusion MYOs are a subtype of Pokedex MYOs. They can be used to make a fusion of Up to TWO pokemon. A DNA Splicer-addon item is needed if you wish to fuse up to FIVE pokemon into one design. [more details on fusion MYOs can be found below]
Unfortunately, we can’t make a rule list for each pokemon as to what is allowed vs what isn’t, however we generally just say go with common sense for a design! (ie: don’t add multiple heads to a non-fusion or typing that wouldn’t make sense to have extra heads on, tail mouths to pokemon that don’t already have an example of them (girafarig), etc!)
To help prevent reworking/remaking a finished design, we strongly recommend users seek approval early in the designing phase of your pokemon by posting your concepts in #design-check for staff review! There, a staff member can verify if a design will or won't pass our approval process ahead of time and noting if anything needs to be fixed/changed. We try to avoid headaches of designs not being approvable when it's reference is already finished at all costs! The last thing we want to do is make you completely remake a reference.
You are allowed to use official and unofficial nintendo lineart bases for your pokemon as long as credit is properly given for your reference
Your reference MUST be a fullbody of your pokemon that shows ALL of the attribute/traits you want on the design.
To get your design approved after you a sure it is good to go, post it into #design-approvals with the appropriate form! These forms can be found within the channel pins. Designs cannot be used in the ARPG until they are approved. Staff tries to get uploads done at least once a week to our Masterlist.
** Please note: New generations of Pokemon that introduce more designs to the Pokedex will not be added to Heartcatch until at LEAST one week after the initial game drop to avoid spoilers for users. Please make sure you are properly spoilering and ONLY posting new pokemon within the designated game threads at that time.
Pokedex MYOs vs WILD MYOs
'Pokedex' MYOs are a type of MYO that REQUIRES you to have 'pokedex' data logged to make a design of the pokemon. These MYOs are much cheaper than Wild MYOs due to this. Additionally, there is a sub-type of "Fusion MYOs" (noted below)
'Wild' MYO designs are a type of MYO that does NOT require you to have a pokemon's 'pokedex' data logged to make a design of the pokemon! However, the MYOs for them are much more expensive! Additionally, they have a sub-type of MYO called "Wild Fusion MYOs" and "Wild Legendary MYOs" (noted below).
Type-swaps AND Any-color/designs are ARE allowed for pokedex/wild MYO pokemon.
If you are not type-swapping or making the design into a fusion, you can still do virtually any color combination/design you wish! If a design veers too far into the zone of their looking like a type-swap however, we may require that the extra typing gets added onto your design anyway. (Ie: adding vines/flowers onto a non-grass type pokemon)
Pokedex/Wild MYO Examples (Non Type Swap and Non Fusion)
Pokedex & Wild MYO pokemon can have ANY color/design you wish! When approving designs, we try not to take the physical design colors into account, and instead look at the overall pokemons TRAITS to see if they pass as what you are stating they are.
Type-Swaps (Pokedex/Wild MYOs Cont.)
Pokedex/Wild MYOs allow for a wide range of designs, including the freedom of giving your pokemon a Type-Swap! All Type-Swaps MUST look representative of their typing. This is very flexible, so as long as you can roughly explain why a trait is there, it may pass!
All fakemon, regardless of if it is a regional variant, are allowed to be type-swapped*. (*asterisk stipulations for the eeveelution clause rules)
⚠️Eeveelutions have stricter Type-Swap approvals. Please see below for the Eeveelution Clause Rules.⚠️
Type-Swap Examples
🌿 ADDITIONAL TYPE-SWAP NOTES + EEVEELUTION CLAUSE
When you make a type swap, you have the choice of keeping it a single type OR making it a dual type.
IF the pokemon is already a dual type, you can replace any typing (IE: Making a Fire/Grass pokemon into Water/Steel) OR totally remove all of them besides the new type for the swap (IE: Making a Bug/Flying pokemon into just Water OR making a Flying pokemon into Bug/Water). We are very open to what is allowed for type swaps as there is a lot you can do with them!
Any and all pokemon*, regardless of if they are Fakemon, Spaceworld Fakemon, Legendries, Canon Pokemon, etc. can be type-swaps with the proper MYO. Pokemon that are regional variants and look very close to their canon counterparts MUST still be identifiable as the regional variant-pokemon. (*Eeveelution Clause)
⚠️EEVEE/EEVEELUTION CLAUSE: For Eeveelutions specifically, If you are type swapping (Example: Umbreon), it must be a dual typing with its original type still present. (IE: You cannot get rid of the dark typing for umbreon and create a fakemon umbreon eeveelution.) We have plans for unused eeveelution typings, so we will be strict on these pokemon designs! They MUST still look like their canon eeveelution design in some way. Eevee Is exempt from this and can look however, but when evolved, the above rules must be followed.
Many eeveelutions will be judged fairly strictly compared to other pokemon for approvals due to their shared attributes with eachother!
Fusion/Wild Fusion MYOs
Fusion/Wild Fusion MYOs may make a design with 2 pokemon in the design. These follow the exact same rules as normal Pokedex/Wild MYOs noted above.
If you wish to have more than one pokemon in a fusion, you can addon a DNA Splicer to the MYO which lets you have up to 5 Pokemon in the fusion.
All pokemon in the fusion must be visually present upon first glance for approval. Fusions can be any typing of the combined pokemon present. *Type swap fusions are rare and are not suggested to be created due to complexities. Please seek out #design-check for staff confirmation on your design.
Fusion/Wild Fusion MYO Examples
🧬 ADDITIONAL FUSION NOTES
DNA Splicers are only an add-on item. They are used with either Wild Fusion or Fusion MYOs to add up to 5 pokemon to a fusion. (EXAMPLE: You have a Wild Fusion MYO and are using it to make a fusion of a Shelgon x Larvitar, both of which you don’t have in your pokedex yet. You use a DNA splicer to add a Deino into the fusion, making it a Shelgon x Larvitar x Deino.)
DNA Splicers can also be used in breedings. (see Daycare Guide for more info)
Wild Fusion MYOs can be used to make a combination of a pokemon you don’t have in your ‘dex AND a pokemon you do have in your ‘dex OR it can just be used to make a fusion of two pokemon you don’t have in your ‘dex. A Wild Fusion MYO is always required to be used IF you are adding a pokemon to a fusion you do not have the 'data' logged with a DNA splicer.
Wild Legendary MYOs may be paired with a DNA Splicer to create legendary pokemon fusions.
Same-evo-line pokemon fusions are allowed, however, highly discouraged unless it's very easily seen as a fusion*. We will be pretty strict on these designs and they will be judged on a case-by-case basis during approval, just like type-swap fusions. (EXAMPLE: if someone did a noibat x noivern, there could be big enough changes to where it’s clearly a fusion. However, if someone did Shinx x Luxio, there’s not enough changes where you couldn’t just say: “oh yes, this is a normal shinx myo with some edits''.
⚠️EEVEE/EEVEELUTION CLAUSE:
*RE: The Same-Evo-Line Rules: Eevee and Eeveelutions are the ONLY exception for this rule being pretty common. Due to the nature of eeveelution x eeveelution fusions, the 'eevee' pre-evolution of these designs ARE ALLOWED to be a singular eevee. A note on the masterlist is required to note that the eevee IS actually an eevee x eevee for future evolution purposes. This eevee design can very clearly be shown with odd attributes for the fusion (multiple legs, heads, ears, eyes, tails, etc.) OR just as a normal eevee design that will evolve into a dual eeveelution fusion.
Evolutions
Evolved pokemon are any and all pokemon in the ARPG that have some sort of evolved form through the use of an Evolution Stone OR evolving them by completing the evo. prompts. Pokemon are allowed to evolve OR pre-evolve at any time.
Click the button below for extended information on Evolving your pokemon.
Mystical Traits
These pokemon have a range of otherworldly attributes that are strange even to the pokemon world. These edits are up to staff discretion to add onto or change as we see fit. More edits may be added on in the future as deemed necessary. These traits are rare and often only used during events, prompts, etc.
Click the button below for extended inf. on Mystic Traits.
CAN I REDESIGN MY POKEMON OR CHANGE ITS REFERENCE?
Yes! We allow pokemon designs to be redesigned within reason:
Revamps/Redesigns can only be done on designs you have made yourself/have created the original concept art for OR if you get permission from the original designer.
There is no point where the design you've made can be redesigned without your prior consent. You will still have full control over if you allow other users to 'redesign' the pokemon or submit a new reference for it if you created the original design.
STANDARD REVAMPS/REDESIGNS
You are allowed simple/minor hue-shifts, design changes/cleaning up the design (ie: getting rid of gradients and making them solid or vice versa), and other minor body edit changes (examples of redesigns noted below).
If you are just looking to update the reference image due to an old art style, unclear design attributes, new accessories, etc. you are allowed to do so if the design is otherwise staying 99% the same without it being a 'redesign'. (permission for updating the original reference is still required from the OG designer)
To redesign a pokemon and avoid 'design flipping', you will be required to provide proof that you have owned the design for at least 30 days. (either by posting the link to the #ml-archive upload from staff OR #archive-updates trade post). If the design was created by yourself, you do not need to wait the 30 days and can redesign them immediately.
All 'Old' references of the pokemon will be saved under an 'old designs' tab on the masterlist profile. These cannot be used unless you revert back to them.
If you prefer an 'Old' reference that a pokemon has in their 'old designs' tab, there is an additional form you can use to 'revert' back to a previous design and only needs the approval of the original artist who created that reference.
Old references will not be deleted off of the masterlist, but you can request for them to be "hidden" and only viewable by staff.

NEW DESIGN ( Dark/Fairy )
TYPE SWAP GEM REDESIGNS
Type swap gem allows users to change the typing on their pokemon during a revamp. This is a specialized revamping process that allows for much more to be changed on the pokemon than standard revamping- since it allows the typing to change larger aspects of the design OR make a pokemon into a type-swap that wasn’t one before.
Can add type swap to a design that does not have it currently OR adds/removes type swap from a design. (can change a single typing in an already type swapped pokemon . (ie: pure fire ts shinx becoming fire/electric) (ie: grass/water ts popplio becoming pure grass.))
This includes evolving pokemon to ADD new types (to an already made typeswap) ! (ie: a grass TS Litten evolving into a grass/water TS Litten)
You are allowed large/drastic color/hue shifts w/ minor design changes to the character (ie: changing a design from pink to yellow & cleaning up any gradients on the design).
Additional "major" edits are allowed to the design to change the pokemon and make it representative to the typing it now has or will change to. (adding fairy wings + halo for a fairy TS.)
Type Swap Gems do not need to change the design at all if you do not wish it. They can be used to give a pokemon a typing they did not have before as well or one that you think makes more sense for them, as long as the typing could still be viable for the design.
