Come join this robotics club targeted for 2nd and 3rd graders. Join us to learn more about block programming on the Spike Essential platform. This is a parent-led club, so please be patient and understand that we are putting this together to give our younger grade kids an opportunity to explore the Spike Essentials Kits. The lessons will be based on the Lego Education-developed curriculum.
For those that may be interested in competing in First Lego League Explore events, the season goes until April, so there will be time for teams to be formed outside of the club, but we are not forming teams as part of the club.
What is needed
A fully charged iPad/laptop/computer for programming. (A chromebook can be lent out as needed)
Parent volunteering is required for helping with setup, cleanup, and helping the smaller groups.
Limit:
10 kids per grade (10 2nd graders and 10 3rd graders).
Priority to PTA members, $10 to join PTA
Suggested donation
$35 (to help cover part of the kits that were purchased). Each kit is $350 and we plan to limit to 2 kids/kit. We would like to cover the cost of 2 of the 5 kits purchased by PTA for this club.
If you have financial difficulty, please reach out to the harveygreenpta@gmail.com. For those with company matching programs, please let us know if you use those portals to donate. Otherwise, please bring check/cash to the first session.
