We are to record our observations in a nature journal format and an infographic manner.

Front cover.
Introduction about yourself.

Week 1
During the first week, I took time in adjusting to the new semester in my first year of college, so I took it easy and spent time familiarising myself with the assignment details. I also watched the Earth 2007 documentary and took some brief notes on my notebook and snapped some pictures on my phone (the pictures I took would not come into use...).
Please excuse the quality of my handwritten notes as they may be a little messy. The notes written are just for me to refer.
Week 2
I didn't yet start on the assignment as thought there would be a lot of time. This is partly a fault of my awful time management so no progress was made during this week as well as the next two weeks to come.
Week 3
My time this week was spent relaxing and still adjusting to my new life. I practised sketching and some water colouring on a humpback whale to get used to the new water colours and painting in general.
Week 4
Week 5
Finally I had begun my assignment by deciding the elements of nature which I will elaborate about. I was late to find out that ONLY elements FROM THE DOCUMENTARY are to be used, therefore causing me to waste more time since I had to re choose which elements I will do.

Week 6
During this week my time was finally spent on working on the drafts. Since I don't have a great drawing or artistic background I decided to use a tracing method as Miss Renee had advised.
I printed out pictures, cutted them out and placed them onto a plain sheet of watercolor paper in order to gauge the sizing and proportion of the object so I could easily reference and trace.

Week 7
The final week was spent tracing, painting and colouring over my drafts. To be honest, this was a little of a rush work which could have been better completed with better time management.
Throughout the process of creating this nature journal I found it quite surprisingly fun and relaxing as I had never intensely used so many art products in such a short period of time at once. Nevertheless, I assignment has been useful as my first assignment of college, it allows me to easily experience a little bit of college work life, and helps me improve my drawing and painting skills.
The first Taylor Graduate Capability I have aquired is Lifelong Learning, as I am able to learn independently, which can be seen in my note taking in this project, as I have diligently gone to the internet and to find out more about the specific flora, fauna, natural phenomenons and topography I have chosen. When doing so, I have been able to successfully locate, extract synthesise and utilise information effectively, as I limited the the information on the final draft as it has to look clean and infographic, therefore I only chose the most necessary of information and effectively planned it's position onto the watercolour paper. I was engaged intellectually throughout this assignment, making sure that I researched into detail, even if the information was not going to be finalised on paper, I did so for my own reward. An example of this was when I researched into the Giant Amazonian Water Lilies Victoria Amazonica, a topic that was not going to be in the finalise work. I learned that this unique species of water lily has a very unique method of pollination; blooming only for 48 hours and attracting beetles into the flower by producing a sweet scented perfume.
My second Graduate Capability I have aquired is Taylor's Interpersonal Skills. I feel I have achieved this skill because I was able to manage oneself and was completely self-reliant, although I did ask my friends and lecturers some things I did not know or to obtain references. I also am able to reflect upon my actions and learning, which after I have done so, I have come to believe that I should increase my time management skills, planning my time more wisely to reduce rushed work. I believe I have completed this project embodying Taylor's core values.
