A Shot History of Nearly Everything - Bill Bryson
Attacking Network Protocols by James Forshaw provides the reader an excellent dive into tool, tips, and resources. Coming from an embedded background, it is refreshing to see some of the same protocols implemented on the web side. I do like the lower architecture and system structures being addressed such as stack cookies. Stack cookies were a new one, though I do believe I have seen them implemented elsewhere by a different name. Here is a Javascript version it seems - https://www.w3schools.com/js/js_cookies.asp. This may be a different concept entirely. I shall explore more.
Key Points:
Physics of the Impossible summarizes where society currently is in terms of technology, and what it would take to reach the next level of technology. While these are shots in the dark and the connecting ideas do need to be filled in by the engineers, physicists, and scientists of today, it serves as a shining way forward. This book does focuses on leveraging popular culture to introduce complex physics ideas such as leveraging Star Trek's shields to explore what would be required to make actual shields for use in and out of combat.
Michio Kaku does not shy away from military application and explored the ideas from the physicists perspective. As an Electrical Engineer, I very much thank him for pointing my studies in the right direction.
