PA (Public Address) consists of two events: Original Oratory and Informative Speaking. Both events are 10 minute (only three songs!) long memorized speeches.
The main difference between the two is the topics and the aids. Original Oratory focuses on broader problems (Our society is becoming more divided), while Informative Speaking focuses on specific, more niche topics (AI).
Informative Speaking allows for props such as boards (which we will show you and help you create), while Original Oratory has no visual aids. Both are to be completely memorized. You only need one speech per year!
PA meets every Monday at 2:15pm!
Check the PA Google Classroom before each meeting!
Meetings will usually consist of introductory presentations, writing workshops, and occasional practice rounds. There may be some additional work between meetings at the beginning of the year.
If you plan on missing a meeting, contact Vrinda or Zhenrui at least 24 hours in advance through email, text, instagram, etc.
Members who do miss a meeting: Check the Agenda folder on the Google Classroom to catch up on your respective missing meeting date → should have a brief overview of what we did during that meeting.
