LD Co-Captain
Hi! I'm Chuck, and I'm a junior. I'll be your Lincoln-Douglas co-captain for this year with Claire. I'm really excited to see what this year brings for LD!
I've done LD since freshman year and it's become my favorite activity - I've formed life-long friendships and some of my closest friends because of LD, though my father and best friend Ziyad through PF.
I like to play the clarinet and play video games in my free time, as well as play basketball and soccer.
I like watching movies and TV series. My favorite movies is Whiplash. My favorite TV shows are House M.D. and Receiver.
I enjoy listening to all kinds of music, with my favorite artists being Post Malone and Laufey, and I am open to any recs you may have.
It's the most fun, moral, and applicable debate event.
LD teaches you many things from critical thinking, the value of ethics, knowledge on current events, research, and collaboration with others who might have different perspectives on the same idea.
The LD community is like a big family! We all work and prep together in the debate world and hang out as friends outside of the debate space. I've made some of my closest friends from LD.
LD topics vary from talking about global events to issues that teenagers face today (such as social media topics)
We are a highly competitive and successful team. In the past 4 years we have had many varsities win tournaments and go to Nationals.
LD teaches you skills that will carry forward with you for the longest time, and we will make sure y'all pick those up over the years!
Me, Claire, and Nivid - your LD captains and Nivid-- a former captain.
