Limited prep

Impromptu is a casual and personal event which challenges members to deliver a thematic speech based off of some kind of topic given at the begininng of the round. It has a 7 minute blanket period: 2 minutes for prep + 5 minutes for speaking. 

Extemporaneous Speaking is a formal and professional speech event which challenges participants to answer questions about current events. It has a 37 minute blanket period, with 30 minutes of prep, and 7 minutes to deliver a memorized, prepared speech.
