Klondike

The Klondike Derby is a challenging winter camping event in which patrols participate in competitive activity stations, prepare their meals outdoors, and camp in tents for one or two nights. The purpose of this event is to reinforce winter camping skills, scout skills, and the patrol method.

The Klondike Derby can be a fun and memorable event for the Scouts, provided they stay warm and dry. Be prepared for the worst-case scenario, which would be a cold, driving rain all weekend long. Dressing in layers and a good pair of winter boots is mandatory at this event. 

2026 Klondike Features

• This year's theme is Traditional Gold Rush!

• Due to weather considerations,  the event has been changed to a 1-day event without camping

• Patrols are limited to a maximum of 8 scouts.

• There will be a campfire program on Saturday evening, so come prepared with songs and skits to share!
