Klondike
The 2024 HAD Klondike will be hosted by Annandale Troop 288 at Lebanon Township Memorial Park.
Hunterdon Arrowhead District (HAD) invites Patrols from all local Troops
to participate in the District Klondike Derby on January 26-28, 2024.
The Klondike Derby is a challenging winter camping event in which patrols participate in competitive activity stations, prepare their meals outdoors, and camp in tents for one or two nights. The purpose of this event is to reinforce winter camping skills, scout skills, and the patrol method.
The Klondike Derby can be a fun and memorable event for the Scouts, provided they stay warm and dry. Be prepared for the worst-case scenario, which would be a cold, driving rain all weekend long. Dressing in layers and a good pair of winter boots is mandatory at this event.
New Changes!
Patrols are limited to a maximum of 8 scouts.
There will be a new timed sled race station where patrols will have two chances to set the best time they can. The top three novice and top three advanced patrols will compete in the grand finale at the end of the day.
There will be a campfire program on Saturday evening, so come prepared with songs and skits to share!
If your troop has a raised fire pit you would be willing to contribute to the evening campfire please bring it.
If your troop is interested in participating in an Order of the Arrow callout Saturday evening please contact us ahead of time.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact Tesher Andrés by email (sparrowhawk@playboldly.com) or phone (908-416-8532)
