Cub Scout Fishing Derby
The HAD Fishing Derby was last held in October 2022.
Currently we do not have a Fishing Derby on the calendar for 2024 due to both calendar planning and uncertainty over the best location for Cub Scout fishing.
Hunterdon Arrowhead District invites Cub Scouts of All Ages
to participate in a Cub Scout Fishing Derby on Saturday, October 22, 2022

Thanks to the generosity of our Sponsors (Clinton Honda, Jaguar Land-Rover Princeton, and Somerset Patriots, our Fishing Derby will be FREE to all Cub Scouts in 2022!
The First 100 Cub Scouts will receive a FREE Fishing Derby Patch.
Cub Scouts should bring their fishing rod and tackle. Cub Scouts who do not have their own fishing rod, should first reach out to their pack leaders to ask about borrowing one for the derby. Please do not let lack of gear stop you from participating - email hadscoutactivities@gmail.com if you need help.
A Parent-Cub Fishing Basics clinic will be held at 1:30 PM. After on-site registration at 2 PM, there will be an Opening Flag Ceremony and a Group Picture before the start of the Fishing Derby.
Cub Scouts should wear their Class A uniform for this District event. Cub Scouts should also bring their own water bottle, snacks, and sun and insect protections as needed.
October 22, 2022 is a Free Fishing Day in New Jersey. Youth under the age of 16 don’t need a license at any time to fish. On Free Fishing Days, adults can also join in the fun without having to purchase a license. Hunterdon Arrowhead District invites all Cub Scout Families to "get hooked" on fishing and all friends of Cub Scouts to "get hooked on scouting".
