Todd Arnold

Todd has a B.S. in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University and has worked in business management for several companies in the Berks County.  Todd is currently the Director of Business Development for CJ's Tire & Automotive.  Todd has participated in and volunteered services for many Hackaway events over the years as a way to give back to the Exeter and greater Berks County communities.  Todd has been on the Hackaway Steering Committee since 2022.

Charlie Bross

Charlie started his career working in the Computer/IT industry in hardware implementation/repair before switching and spending the remaining 21 years in the field as a computer programmer. In 2018, his love and passion for the game of golf drove him to taking a leap of faith and starting up his own business, Swing Evolutions.

In the winter of 2022-23, Swing Evolutions partnered with Hackaway at Hunger and Poverty by hosting a series of indoor golf fund raising events.  

Charlie joined the Hackaway Steering committee in October of 2023.

Greg Galtere

Greg Galtere is the retired principal of Boyertown Middle School West where he served as principal for fifteen years. During his time as principal, he also served on the Boyertown Area United Way Board of Directors for 12 years. In addition to serving as Hackaway at Hunger’s treasurer, he is a member of the Exeter Area Food Pantry steering committee and serves on the boards of the Berks County Golf Association and the Reading Berks Basketball Association.


Tom Koch

Tom was a junior high / middle school science teacher in the Boyertown Area School District for 25 years and retired in January 2023.  He is an alternate on the Zoning Hearing Board in Lower Alsace Township, and he has actively volunteered for many years with various organizations in the Antietam Valley / Pennside community in which he grew up.  Prior to becoming a teacher, Tom was a registered Professional Geologist in PA and was a Senior Hydrogeologist for RMC Environmental Services and Normandeau Associates.  Tom has been on the Hackaway at Hunger and Poverty Steering Committee since January of 2021 and currently serves as President.

Bud Lewis

Bud worked for a construction company for 12 yrs before returning to college to complete his degree. He graduated from Shippensburg University with a BSBA in Management Science. After graduation, he helped start a family plastic manufacturing business and retired in 2020. He serves as VP of the Hackaway at Hunger steering committee, and is dedicated to helping area food banks provide for community members suffering from food insecurity.

Andy Ruppert

Andy was a junior high/middle school principal in the Boyertown Area School District for 16 years and retired in August of 2020.  Throughout his tenure, he served as a board member of the United Way of the Boyertown Area.  Previous to his principalship, Andy served as an assistant principal in Boyertown at both East and the senior high school, as well as Perkiomen Valley Middle School.  Prior to that, Andy taught social studies for eleven years at Spring-Ford Area Senior High School. 

Andy joined the Hackaway board in 2023 and is excited to be assisting the community with one of its most pressing needs.

Bruce Stern

Bruce has been in retail management for the past 27 years. He recently discovered the joys of running and participates in 5K and 10K races. Bruce runs with a group called DetermiNation where they raise money for The American Cancer Society.

Bruce has participated in a number of Hackaway events and was honored when asked to join the Committee in early 2023.  

Tom Walker

Tom retired in 2014 after a 40-year career in business. His background includes marketing and corporate communications in the insurance, banking and pharmaceutical industries. 

He is a graduate of Neshaminy High School, Langhorne, Pa., Bucks County Community College, Newtown, Pa., and Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Mich. He has been an Exeter Township resident since 1985. Tom has three children and two granddaughters. 

Tom has served on the Hackaway Steering Committee since the organization was founded. He is also vice president of the Berks County Golf Association. 

His book, “Navigator”, tells the story of his father’s service in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945. Tom’s research into the history of golf at Reading Country Club and in Berks County is posted to the Golf Chronicles website, golfchrons.weebly.com.
