Parents are encouraged to participate in their child’s development through ongoing communication. We will discuss your child’s activity, progress, and behavior on a daily basis to ensure we are working together on goals and address any problems that may arise. This communication will always be straight-forward and honest from staff, and we would appreciate and expect the same.
Gummy Bears' Daycare and Learning Center requires a number of forms which allow parents to communicate about their child’s routines, development, medical information, and any special concerns.
To aid in your child’s care while at daycare, please inform us about changes in the child’s life (i.e. new siblings, separation, moving, a parent going out of town for a while, death of a grandparent, etc.). Parents are expected to communicate when there will be a change to their child's attendance (i.e. absence, late arrival, early pick up, etc.). Confidentiality concerning parent communication will always be respected.
Information pertaining to events during the week will be posted on the small dry erase door just inside the front door. Items such as “Closed Monday for Holiday,” or “Substitute Caregiver on Wednesday,” field trips, special visitors, or welcoming new students to daycare are examples of what might be included on the board.
Throughout the year, holiday parties or other school events may be held to provide an opportunity for daycare families to get to know each other and build relationships between families and children. Two of our most popular events have been our Easter party and the yearly Daycare Camping Reunion. A lot of planning and preparation goes into these events, so please make every effort to attend. Because we are a small, in-home childcare, if you opt out, you will be greatly missed.
