Serving the Cedar Valley since 1999
Gummy Bears' Daycare & Learning Center was a licensed registered provider with the State of Iowa from 1999 to 2017. After multiple discussions, it was decided to drop the registration; however, staff still maintain First Aid and CPR Certification, follow the guidelines for meals and snacks set forth by the Child and Adult Care Food Program, and attend between 12 and 16 hours of continuing education trainings yearly to keep up-to-date with current and best practices in Early Childhood Education. The quality of care at the center has not changed, but there is a lot less paperwork to do. Gummy Bears' Daycare & Learning Center specializes in caring for breastfed babies and is able to offer parents free access to a licensed lactation consultant in addition to supporting parents in the use of cloth diapers.
With over 475 hours of Early Childhood training, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa Honor Studies Program and six semesters of Early Childhood Coursework from Upper Iowa University, Gummy Bears' Daycare & Learning Center Director, Karla Gindling, was honored to be the first-ever and multiple-time recipient of the Excellence in Early Childhood Education Award, an award given by Childcare Resource and Referral and sponsored by KWWL and Cedar Valley's Promise recognizing outstanding professionals making a difference in the lives on young children and their families in the Cedar Valley.
