This is an estimated timeline you can use to help you plan!

Start of the school year -- November 4: Study for the exam using the official Quizlet 

October 1: Attend the Fall Leadership Conference with DECA and FBLA and attend the Leadership workshop to hear more about running for office

November 4-- November 15: Take the State Officer Exam

Start of school year -- State Competition: Attend workshops run by state officers at invitationals if available

District Competition -- State Competition: Start working on speech and visual resume

Before the application comes out: Finalize visual resume

January 17th: Application Submission Deadline

February 6 (5:30 PM): Attend virtual Q and A session on Zoom

One to Two weeks before State Competition: Finalize speech

State Day 1: Attend candidate briefing-- speeches and interviews start for some students

State Day 2: Speeches and interviews finish

State Day 3: New officers are announced at the Grand Awards Ceremony
