The interview will take place immediately after the speech at the state conference with the selection committee. The voting delegates will ask you several questions including your ability to think on your feet, your creativity, your qualifications, past leadership history, and more.
Some sample questions to help you prepare but different ones may be asked.

What is your favorite memory/ DECA memory?
What is your favorite DECA conference you have attended?
What is your greatest weakness?
What makes you qualified to represent all of Colorado DECA/ your district? How do you plan on representing every member of Colorado DECA?
What makes you a leader?
What qualities do you think all leaders should have?
If we were to look at your social media, what would we see?
If you were to choose a charity for the 10/10/10 Initiative, what charity would you choose and why?
Being a State Officer is a lot of responsibility. What aspect of being a State Officer would prove to be the greatest challenge for you?
Being a State Officer takes a lot of time; how do you plan on being a State Officer while balancing school work and other extracurriculars?
What other extracurriculars are you involved in?
What have you/ your chapter done for the 10/10/10 this year?

Take your time. If you need some time to think about a question, let the committee know. They want to know how you think and to better understand who you are!
Practice, practice, practice. The only way to truly get more comfortable with answering these kinds of questions is to mock interview with a friend or advisor.
