At the time of selection and throughout the entire term of the candidate's office the following requirements must be met:
Attending a Colorado High School with an approved business program
Continuous enrollment in an approved business/marketing class
Maintain a GPA of 2.5+
Be an official, paid DECA member
Additionally, the following rules and regulations must be adhered to during the selection process:
Must attend the state conference
No caucusing or campaigning will be permitted
If any rules, regulations, or requirements are not followed or met, the application will be void and candidacy eligibility may be revoked.
As a State Officer, you must be able to attend the following dates:
DECA State officer training (xxx, 2026)
CTSO State Officer Training (xxx, 2026)
Chapter Leadership Training (One day TBD in September or October 2026)
In-person State Officer Meetings in Denver Metro Area (Minimum of 2 throughout the school year including one in the fall and one in January)
Two District DECA Conferences 2026
State DECA Career Development Conference 2027
Other special meetings as assigned (potential virtual meetings for planning events)
If you are not able to attend these events, you are not elible to run for state office.
