SELECTION PROCESS

Officers will be chosen by the selection committee, appointed by the Colorado DECA state director. These selected members will review, interview, and process all of the documents and information provided by the candidates and vote for each candidate for their positions. The committee can consist of, but is not limited to:

• A non-competing member from each district

• A former DECA advisor

• A specialist from another CTSO

• A lead advisor from another CTSO

• Past state or international officers

• School counselors 

• A CTE leader

• A business or industry representative

• A DECA alumni

When running for office, a candidate may express a preference for either an executive or district position, however, the office you are selected for is up to the decision of the selection committee.
