DONATE TO GOOD FAIRY

Here's how you can help Good Fairy help others through your generous gift of your time, talent and/or treasure.

If you're looking for volunteer opportunities throughout Marin, check out the interactive listing on the CVNL website here.

Donate Your Time

We're always looking for Good Fairy volunteers who can make a difference in the communities we serve throughout Marin. Click here to sign up for one of our current events.

If you haven't already done so, please JOIN Good Fairy  and provide us with the details of what you are able and willing to do for others.

Whatever fits into your life; tell us if you prefer to do one-off tasks or if you would like an ongoing partnership.  You can also  specify whether you’d like to participate in just a specific activity such as offering pickup truck help, IT support, painting stones, baking and more.

Let us know if you are restricted to  volunteering from your own home, or only at weekend, etc... And remember you can change your status any time.

If you have any questions, please send us email at team@goodfairy.org or call Penny on 415-309-1358.

Donate Your Talent

The Good Fairy leadership team very much appreciates expert advice from lawyers, doctors, nurses and therapists when navigating requests for help.  Sometimes, with your permission, we may ask you to speak directly to a person in need of support. Or you can just make yourself available to consult us.

If you're not able to help out right now in the community, please consider donating your talent to help Good Fairy function better as an all-volunteer organization.  We're always looking for responsible folks to join our core team who can help with the management of incoming requests, communications and matching needs of those we serve with those folks in the community who can help out.

Please send us email at team@goodfairy.org or call Penny on 415-309-1358 if you're able to help us help others.

Donate Your Treasure

Many times, life is so hectic for many of us that donating money or services is the best way to help out.  Your donation -- whether it is money or stuff that could be used by someone in the community -- is always appreciated and since we are an all-volunteer organization, rest assured that 100% of  your donation goes to the people we serve.

Money

The best ways to donate are direct to one of our Gofundme projects;

Or direct to Penny Macphail, our Founder:

If you have any questions, please send us email at donations@goodfairy.org  or call Penny on 415-309-1358.

Gifts in Kind

Can you/your organization offer goods/services that we can get to people in need? For instance,  restaurants can offer a meal for two, grocery stores can offer vouchers, marketing companies can help with bumper stickers and service providers like nail bars, hairdressers and bike repair shops can offer their services for free or at significant discounts. Perhaps you have a surplus of something?  Let us know what you have to offer to Good Fairy and we will brighten someone’s day.

Supplies for our projects, pots,  tomato stakes, grow bags for gardenin

Fixing things, lamps, bikes, tents so their owner or new owner can use them

Whatever is the PERFECT gift for a 93 yr old who once met Angela Lansbury and watches Murder She Wrote every day.

A cosy robe for a chilly senior in hospital who has no local family support.

Care packs. This one was for a teenager who was throw out of her family home when she told he parents she was gay.  Oh - and we buy marketing things like bumper stickers to spread the word

Santa Claus shopping for hearts and tummies. We also gift people grubhub vouchers or send them a pizza/lasagna fairy when times are tough.

ACE Hardware Gift Cards

Electronic gift cards are a great way for you to give and they allow us to patronize our local merchant partners whenever possible.  Your donation of an Ace Hardware gift card means that we'll spend every penny of your donation locally in service of our Good Fairy community. And when you purchase electronic gift cards, they are available immediately to the Good Fairy team and you do not need to worry about handling or losing plastic cards.

You can visit the Ace Hardware eGift store here and create your gift card; any amount is appreciated.  Please use goodfairymarin@gmail.com as the recipient email address and follow the online instructions for purchase and delivery.

For more information on the Ace Hardware eGift process, please see this FAQ document.

Fairy Wish List

Through our Fairy Wish List program, we work with Good Fairy community members who are in need of certain essential items.  We post items needed on the Nextdoor Good Fairy group and we rally our community  to fulfill these requests.

In many cases, our Good Fairy community members may not have the financial resources to purchase items and/or the transportation capabilities for pickup and delivery; through our program, Good Fairy matches people who NEED stuff with people who HAVE stuff that they no longer use and we figure out how to transport the stuff from point A to point B.

Do you need inspiration to donate your lightly-used stuff to someone who can use it?  Please check out this video on YouTube...
