Michael Wangerin – Trainer, Global Financial Aid Services
Michael Wangerin joined Global Financial Aid Services in November 2007 and has since built a diverse and extensive career within the organization. He began as a File Review Specialist and has served in a variety of roles across multiple departments, including Subject Matter Expert, Team Leader, Night Shift Supervisor of Floor Training, Account Executive, Software Support Engineer, Client Service Representative, and GlobalCORE Trainer.
In March 2022, Michael was promoted to Trainer within the Operations Department. In this role, he is responsible for the development and maintenance of comprehensive training material utilized by both internal staff and client institutions, focusing on Department of Education regulations, software navigation, and best practices in student aid administration.
Professional Background Highlights:
Training & Content Development: Over 15 years of experience developing comprehensive training modules for internal staff and client institutions to support ongoing learning of Department of Education regulations and effective system navigation. Over 8 years experience producing instructional videos designed to help students and parents understand documentation requirements related to Verification and C-flag resolution.
Client Services: Brings over 8 years of experience working directly with colleges to identify and resolve operational and compliance issues.
Team Leadership: Served 3+ years in a management role within a high-volume production environment.
Web Design & Administration: Has more than 3 years of experience in website design, content management, and technical support.
A lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Michael earned his Associate’s Degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Southern Mississippi.
