Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3 Summary
Qsn: Krishna, why focus on Knowledge (Jnana) over work?
Principle: Ans: Work to please Vishnu, devata’s to avoid karma bandana - bondage & to maintain ecological balance.
Two paths: Abstain work (Jnana Yoga) or do work (Karma Yoga)
No one can live without work even for a second.
Know that we all are forced to work by the three modes of nature. Be aware.
Renouncing work doesn't make one a jnani or sanyasi
Premature giveup of work is cheating
Why be as Bramhin [Sanyasi/Jnani], be a kshatriya, not others duty
a) Neglecting duty as a Kshatriya leads to misery;
b) Stitaprajna (Janaka - Jnani) works to set an example;
c) Even I (Supreme Person), with no tasks in the entire creation, still work, as people follow my lead.
Conclusion: Giveup laziness, peform your duty for me - just because I said, without any desire.
Qsn: Hey Krishna, something is stopping me from doing my duty, something is forcing me to do sin. What is it ?
Ans: This is due to Mode of Passion, Lust - Our Eternal Enemy. It covers our knowledge. It sits on senses, mind, intelligence and forces us to do sin.
Solution Steps:
1: Control Senses i.e., do seva, japa;
2: Understand the Hierarchy: Soul > Intelligence > Mind > Senses;
3: Sharpen Spiritual Intelligence i.e., hear Gita Pravachan
