Birthday book :) Fascinating story of Bill Watterson and his creations. I had no idea how very much he disliked fame. Enjoyed very much reading about Calvin's development and Watterson's career. I wish he'd keep drawing, but I understand now why he's not.
"Musings of a Geriatric Starlet"
What an interesting life!
"In wonder it begins . . ."
"More is more and less is a bore."
"Color can raise the dead."
Discovered on Chase's bookshelf. The story of a real life bank robbery in Cisco, TX. I knew nothing about this episode of Texas history, but I do know some of the locations. Wild story and all the mishaps involved.
Somehow I'd never read this "classic." After many times having it suggested by people I care about, I decided that this was the summer to read it. One gray day I sat down and read it start to finish.
Jane Austen's last novel, finished by someone else and now a mini series. I found this book at the Friends of the Library Book sale and for $1 brought it home. She wrote the first 11 chapters. In those chapters we are introduced to all the characters and after 80 pages I realized I just didn't care. About any of them. No redeeming qualities, nothing stands out. I put it back on my shelf :/
How much can one person go through and remain resilient? Ask Viola Davis. Wow.
This was an interesting listen. And that twist? Wow. Did not see that coming. Maybe I should have, but I didn't.
A story from the point of view of the dog :) I read the abridged version and enjoyed it very much.
What can I say? I'm a sucker for a WWII story. A period piece, coming of age, girl saves herself tale.
Another period piece.
Researched and well presented. Interesting premise and she's right. Now to DO it.
