English Language Arts teachers KNOW the rubric! From Six Trait Writing Training, from grounding exercises, from district level writing prompts, from every direction we are handed rubrics. Some are more useful than others, but all carry the same standard processes. Adding a well crafted, personal Rubric to your assignments (not EVERY assignment, but those that warrant it) can help you grade, the student better understand the feedback and everybody prepare the best examples of their work possible!

Anybody besides me remember Rubistar?! I remember creating complicated, rather impersonal documents that took just as long to create as they did to use. This is not that kind of rubric!
