Too much of one and your classes will lose interest.
More than 15 questions and my middle schoolers lost interest.
Shy kids suddenly become competitive and engaged. Competitive kids have to <gasp> read to be successful! Some classes really got into Quizizz and found other topics of interest and learned all kinds of things. Other classes would gladly do a Kahoot! every day and never wanted it to end. It let me see what we knew before, during, and after a section and it gave me a break from talking and students a break from listening to me!
In the end, it's about what works for your content and your students.
"Blooket is an exciting new take on the modern classroom review game. It aims to match action with education to create the ultimate learning experience!"
When I first saw references to Blooket (probably in a Facebook teacher group) in the spring of 2021 I thought I don't need another platform for this purpose and it looks like elementary kids. My seniors are NOT going to buy into this. I kept seeing people singing its praises and gave in.
I piloted the platform with my 7th hour Journalism class as their attention lagged (predictably enough) wading through vocabulary and interruptions and the end of the day. They LOVED it. They fought, they read, they asked to play it again. I learned which game modes they liked, which modes they weren't into and kept creating question sets. From there it was on to ENG 12 & Creative Writing classes. Each group reacted differently but it was an excellent way to get vocabulary practice and engage students who previously lagged.
