Scott and I met in a small town just south of Atlanta Georgia in 2007. It was clear early on we had shared very similar past experiences and had a lot in common. We both had teenagers. My beautiful daughter Alexis and Scott's wonderful son Kevin. We both enjoyed exercise, healthy food, and most of all, a love for travel. We also have two adopted cats. Lexie and Lewie. My sister Ramona along with her cat Scratch, make purrfect cat sitters when we travel!
Over the years, we took several family vacations. A few cruises to the Caribbean, hiking in Colorado, Las Vegas, and of course beach vacations in Florida. After college, our daughter moved to California with her college sweetheart, and every year our vacations always included a stop at their home. This certainly was not a bad thing! The west coast is beautiful, and we had great trips ranging from San Diego to Seattle. We also had an awesome trip starting with a rock concert at Red Rocks in Colorado, and then road tripping to New Mexico with stops in Taos and Santa Fe. Of course we had to see the Breaking Bad store/museum in Albuquerque!
A couple of years ago, our daughter, son-in-law and our newborn grandson moved back to Georgia. Needless to say, we were overjoyed! This move not only brought us much happiness, but gave us another perspective on our vacation planning. When Scott suggested a Rick Steves tour, I jumped in. I didn't hesitate to log in, make an account and book our first trip which was The Heart of Italy. We had an incredible time, so again, when Scott suggested Germany, Austria and Switzerland, I booked the trip! Immediately!Â
Allison's Aha! Pack light. Pack light. Pack light! Definitely heed Rick's packing advice. You will be happy you did. Have a laundry day. Some items you can wash in the sink. You can buy most anything in Europe that you may need. Ladies. Don't stress about dressing in the same outfit twice. We all did it!
