Our Pentecost Retreat is a journey in hope based on the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius Loyola. This retreat is a continuation of the Lenten retreat journey that was started on Ash Wednesday.
The retreat can be followed either individually, or a a family or in group.
Daily Prayer: Each day between Easter and Pentecost, you are provided with daily prayer material, a picture and other reflections. You are invited to spend 15 minutes to an hour each day of praying with this material.
Group meeting: You are also invited to join a group of fellow retreatants on a weekly basis to share your journey and be challenged to learn to pray in a new way. These facilitated meetings will be one hour in duration and will take place online.
Prayer Materials: Below you will find a link to the material for each day organised by week. Every day there is one passage from Scripture plus 'A Thought for Today' and a picture to ponder. We also give a few suggestions on how to pray the day’s materials. If you want to rather download the weeks prayer material click on the week below to get this information. The themes for the different weeks are :
Week 1 - I know the plans I have for you
Week 2 - Growing in love and compassion
Week 3 - Seeing as God sees
Week 4 - Called and Gifted
Week 5 - Go out to the world
Week 6 - Filled with the Spirit
Reflecting on Prayer: After each day’s prayer we suggest that you jot down in a journal a few notes on how the prayer had gone. This will help your sharing either within your family or the group if you joined one. It can also be used to reflect on how things are moving during this period and see whether you discern any patterns in the way God is speaking to you.
Cost: This Pentecost Retreat is free of charge.
Our Pentecost 2020 retreat is being offered in partnership with the ISC:Glasgow and St John xxiii Parish Geneva.
