Google Classroom allows you to create classes where you then add your students. This allows you to communicate directly with your students, share materials, and set them assignments.
The beauty of Classroom is that you can choose to use it in a simple way, for example, just using it to send messages to your students, or you can use it more fully to control all your classwork and homework.
It allows you to go completely paperless as everything is shared in the class. Students can use it both on a computer or on their phones.
It deals with all the Drive sharing access automatically.
It's free to use.
It can be motivating via peer group pressure and deadline reminders, for example, when handing in homework.
There are four main pages to a class. Stream, Classwork, People, Marks.
Stream is where all the messages and latest actions taken in the class are displayed.
Classwork is where all the materials, questions, and assignments are created and stored.
The People page is where teachers and students are invited to join the class and can be emailed from here too.
You can see all the marks of all the students of all the assignments all on one handy page.
