FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When are the application deadlines?

For Spring admission:  November 15

For Fall admission:  June 1 firm deadline (priority registration will take effect in the following term).

The application is to be submitted online so that everything comes together. If there are problems, such as with uploading materials, you may email it to scholars@glendale.edu. Instructors may email Grade Reports directly to scholars@glendale.edu if they prefer.

NOTE: You will be notified of your admission status 6-8 weeks after the applicable deadline; it may take longer. Contact Dr. Harnett, or the Scholars Program Administrative Assistant, at scholars@glendale.edu, if you have further questions.

Can I Be a Guest Scholar?

No. Scholars does not have a formal system for guests. However, when there is room at meetings and events, anyone is welcome. Consult the Scholars Calendar and contact Cabinet and Dr. Harnett to see if a particular meeting or event is available. Our contact information is on this website in the MORE>CONTACT page.

How much of a time commitment does Scholars typically involve?

Scholars students are involved in committee meetings, subcommittee meetings and work, General Assemblies, and Scholars events and activities, with a very rough average of about 21 hours each semester. The most dedicated Scholars put in more time than that, and the general approach to the program involves an emphasis on the quality and depth of each Scholar's involvement, rather than merely reaching minimum requirements.
