Let's talk about the stuff you should bring to our class every day. First and most important, don't forget your instrument! Whether it's a trumpet, clarinet, or any other cool instrument you play, bring it along so we can make beautiful music together. Next up, your music sheets! You'll need them to follow along and play the right notes. Oh, and always have a trusty pencil with you. It's essential for taking notes and marking any changes in your music. Lastly, if we use Chromebooks in class, make sure to bring yours too. They're handy for digital music sheets and other cool activities.

We have some important guidelines to follow to make our rehearsals awesome and get the most out of our music learning. Let's go through them together:
Before and After Rehearsal:
Be on time: Set up your chair and music stand and be in your seat at the assigned starting time. We'll let you know the starting times at the beginning of the school year.
Bring your gear: Make sure you have all your necessary stuff with you, like your instrument, valve oil, mutes, extra reeds, and more. Percussionists, have your instruments set up and ready too.
Warm-up: Before we start, take some time to warm up individually. Do some lip-slurs, long tones, and scales, and practice the music we're working on.
During Rehearsal:
Listen up: When the teacher is talking, or music is being performed, let's not chat or make too much noise. We want to hear everything clearly.
Stay engaged: Pay attention and follow all the instructions during the rehearsal. Be ready to play your instrument when the teacher asks.
Do your best: Play your individual parts as well as you can. If you're having trouble with something, practice it at home so you're prepared for class.
Raise your hand: If you have a question or need to leave the rehearsal area, raise your hand to let the teacher know.
Let's all work together and follow these guidelines to have an amazing time making music and learning together!
Let's make our band class a super cool and respectful place for everyone. We have some awesome procedures to follow:
Listen up: Let's not play or talk too much when the director is teaching. We want to hear what the director is saying and learn together.
Respect the gear: Instruments are special and fragile, so we should only use our own. Never touch someone else's instrument, okay? Also, the school-owned instruments, like percussion instruments, are only for percussion students to play.
Stay focused: Always do your best and pay attention during the lesson. Even when the director is working with other students, practice your part quietly, so you'll be ready to play when it's your turn.
Let's all treat each other and our equipment with kindness and respect. That way, we'll have an awesome time in band class and make some fantastic music together!
Just a friendly reminder about our class rules:
Cell phones off, please: During class time, keep your cell phones in your pocket or backpack, not on your music stands. We want to stay focused on the music and learning together. You'll get one warning before your phone is taken and given to the office.
Chromebook ready: Make sure you have a working Chromebook with you every day. It's essential for class activities. We won't be using cell phones for Chromebook work, so let's keep them away during class.
Here's some important info about our music and band folders:
Your own music: Each of you will get your very own copy of the music we're studying. Cool, right?
Keep track of it: Make sure to take good care of your music and bring it to every rehearsal and performance. It's essential to have it with you.
Get a binder: You'll need a BLACK THREE RING BINDER for your band portfolio. Keep all your music, handouts, and materials in this special folder.
Always keep it in your binder: Keep your music and everything related to band in this folder at all times. It helps us stay organized and ready to play.
Having our music organized in our band portfolios will make our rehearsals and performances awesome.
