Our band members have been working hard in ensemble rehearsals, sectionals, and through individual practice to prepare this festive music for you. We know they'll give their best performances tonight, and we hope you'll join in the fun by creating a lively (and maybe a little silly!) concert atmosphere.
Don your ugliest sweaters, get ready to jingle those bells, and let's celebrate the season with some fantastic music!
Best wishes for a healthy and happy holiday season to you and yours. Let us begin the New Year with a renewed commitment to music in our schools. Through music, our children enjoy a rich life filled with expression, appreciation, and creative growth.
Concert program books can be pricey to print and not great for the environment. We'll still have a one-page printed program for all our concerts, but if you'd prefer to receive a digital copy via email on the day of the concert, we'll send it to all our students and parents automatically. No need to sign up for anything – it's all hassle-free and eco-conscious!
The report time for the upcoming Ugly Sweater Concert is scheduled for 6:30 PM, 30 minutes before the actual performance at 7:00 PM. This early arrival is essential to address any last-minute preparations or unforeseen issues, ensuring a prompt and well-organized start to the concert. It also helps students relax and mentally prepare for their performances, fostering a sense of professionalism.
The lecture hall will serve as a central meeting point for students, facilitating communication of important instructions and final checks before they disperse to their respective performance areas. This will contribute to a smooth and memorable concert experience for both performers and the audience.
For our 6th-grade Ugly Sweater Concert, we encourage all students (and parents!) to ditch the formal wear and embrace the Winter spirit with your most outrageous, hilarious, and wonderfully ugly sweaters. The uglier, the better! Think flashing lights, dangling reindeer, and maybe even some tinsel. Let's make this concert a festive and fun-filled celebration!
We can't wait to see your awesomely ugly creations at the concert!
Should inclement weather lead to the closure of the school, we will assess the situation in the morning to decide whether it's safe to proceed with the concert. Be sure to check your email and Google Classroom for updates. If the school's central office decides to cancel after-school activities due to severe weather conditions, we may need to reschedule the concert. We commit to keeping you informed and will promptly share any cancellations or modifications through email.
This concert is REQUIRED for all members of the 6th grade band. For students to receive full credit for the concert, students are expected to follow the following guidelines:
Performance Grading
Students will be dressed, instruments assembled, music gathered, and in their seat at their concert call time. Being late to a concert means the student was not in his/her seat, ready to go, at assigned time.
Students will behave in a manner that is appropriate in the concert setting. Inappropriate behavior, including improper warm-up, is not tolerated and could result in being prevented from performing.
Students are expected to stay for the entire concert. Even if the student has completed his/her portion of the concert, students are expected to stay and support, listen to, and evaluate other ensembles performing.
Students are expected to put equipment away after the performance. This includes instruments, music, stands, and chairs.
